Out of Office - Zermatt Resort Day 2
On the second day we were in meetings until 2:30. It was raining all day long and quite cold. The day before was so hot. There was going to be a Scavenger Hunt. I was thinking that this would be a tacky little, run around the resort and try to find clues. It was nothing like this. The individuals in charge gave us bags in the morning that had a bandanna. I thought that the bandannas were different for everyone, but they weren't. There was also another item that had our team number. We were divided into groups. We were told that each of us would have a specific job/function within the team and we would get to decide and pick it. We gathered into our groups and then they told us that the jobs. They stated that they got RZRs. I was thinking... we're going to be scooting across the resort property in scooters? How fun is this really? Then, realized when everyone else was cheering and they started talking about drivers, I was thinking, this is not the razor scooters. We had four people to a team and the jobs were as follows: driver, scribe, navigator and photographer. I wanted to be the photographer, of course. :) We had our briefing and we were off. This was my first experience on anything that is even remotely close to being and ATV. It was a blast. We went around the entire Wasatch National Forest.
Our first clue led us to the Visitor's Center.
Once we were done there, we went to the Amphitheater at Wasatch Mountain State Park.
This was not our clue. We spent a long time here and wished it were.
We found it underneath this apple tree. I was able to place the camera in between a twig and got a group picture. Yay!
Then, we went to the Huber Apple Farm. After that we went to Mill Flat.
Here's a picture of one the the many mud puddles we drove through.
I tried to upload the picture of us going through the mud, but it failed.
This is the video of us going through a mud puddle. :)
Then, we went all the way around the mountain. It was a blast. The driver of our team owns the type of ATV we were on. He took us over many mud puddles and berms. It was a blast. We stopped by Cascade Springs. I've been there before, several times. I think it's so beautiful and peaceful. We had an older gentleman take pictures of our group. After that point all of my pictures were gone. I was extremely sad and didn't realize this until I got back to the resort after I was trying to look for our splash photo and the video of us going through a mud puddle. Oh well, it was hard to let go. I felt like I failed my job.
This is Emma, one of my wonderful, hardworking coordinators and team member.
