Out of Office - Zermatt Resort Day 1

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

I got to the Zermatt Resort around 4 p.m.  When I walked up to the front of the building to check in there was beautiful music playing.  I felt as if I were in a quaint Swiss village in Europe.  I checked in at the front desk.  They were very friendly and efficient.  They had a greeter wearing traditional clothes on.  I met several other co-workers and we walked around the resort.  My wonderful co-workers helped me get my things to my room.

We stopped at the Backerei & Eis and bought Gelato.  I never had gelato until that day and it was delicious.  I adored the Chocolate Hazelnut.  The bakery had such delicious looking croissants, eclairs, and pastries.

That night, we had dinner at Schneitter's Restaurant.

I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon.  It was marvelous.  The fish tasted very fresh and cooked rather well.  It wasn't very fishy or rubbery.  I'm quite used to rubbery fish since I live in a land locked state.

This was the Stuffed Chicken Breast.  I had a bite of my friends and I thought it was a little tough.

This was my favorite - Molten Chocolate Cake.  I love a cake or brownie oozing with fudge inside with a side of natural ice cream.  The ice cream was wonderful, since it had the little vanilla bean pieces.  I was stuffed.

Towards the end of dinner I walked around our long dinner table and took photos of everyone, but I won't post them without their permission.

After dinner we walked around the resort and that's when I saw the beautiful sunset behind the clouds.
